Howdy I recently got my hands on a double dvd of roxy Music. Now Id known Eno used a VCS 3 in Roxy for ever - I have one too!! - but as I watched the live sets from the early days there are these songs ... On nthe 3rd April 73 they played the OGWT and played Do The Strand and In Every Dream Home a Heartache and Eno is playing something else. It looks like EMS Gear but looks like more than a VCS 3 with added on modules. However Robin Wood tells me it is not EMS gear but that Phil Manzanera was rumoured to have a synth setup and it may be that. You can see the clip on you tube here - au.youtube.com/watch?v=8aXROGjOUJE Does anyone know what gear he is using in these performances? Is it Phils setup? What did it consist of? any clues much appreciated ab

Eno Web states;
I seem to remember seeing an old film of you with Roxy, I think it was The Old Grey Whistle Test or something similar, and you were playing what seemed to be an ARP2600, is that right?
"No, I tell you what that was, it was essentially an EMS VCS3 synthesiser built into a unit that I designed. With Roxy you see, a lot of the time I was taking live instruments and feeding them into the synthesiser and treating them, so what I had was the basic synthesiser with some extra bits to help me... they are quite rough though, those early synths."
