I went to see The Explorers at the Hacienda in '85' and have a couple of photo's, I was really impressed!! I loved the first Album and still have it on vinyl It was just a bit strange when they did the Roxy tracks and Bryan wasn't there ........but that's why it was The Explorers and not Roxy!! I'll have to get the pictures posted on here soon!

I saw their gig at Birmingham University - really enjoyed it. Also had the chance to talk to Phil and Andy before the gig. However, I think the best PM (& TGPT/BM!) gig I've seen was 801 at Birmingham Town Hall. Great memories!!

The Camden Palace gig has been broadcast occasionally in edited form hosted by Mike (Supersonic) Mansfield - hopefully PM is going to release the lot on dvd (though this has been discussed as far back as the days of VHS). I missed its first broadcast as 'Live from London' and was so annoyed that I (somehow - can't imagine being so resourceful now) bought a vhs copy direct from Trilion, the company that filmed it. For TWENTY FIVE POUNDS in 1985-ish! Still, it was a good investment - it was a wonderful sax-tutor video for me Lee S

It's a pity that the "All along the Watchtower" video has been removed from youtube. Great solo from Phil - he only has to play 2 notes and you know it's him!
I still think that one of the most complete performances I've seen from a guitarist was from Phil at the Birmingham Town Hall during the 801 tour - brilliant! To me it seemed that certain aspects of his playing (and gear) at that time were carried over into the Manifesto tour. IMHO he's at his best when there is no second (or third) guitarist!
