I was going to ask the same question. This Roxy forum is the only one where the Webmaster has direct access to a member of Roxy (Phil) who would have a reasonable idea as to when the album will see the light of day. I know that deadlines change due to unforseen circumstances, but Roxy and Phil fans would greatly appreciate even a tentative date at this stage. A preview download of a work in progress would also be nice Just kidding...

Without wishing to make any definitive statement about the status of the 'new' album and whether it will be: 1. finished; or 2. released I think it reasonable to say that, were there a new album, then a tour would inevitably follow. It makes no financial sense to do the former and not the latter as there is precious little money in album sales nowadays. But, whether or not there is an album this year, next year or whenever there WILL be new output from PM and AM to help fill the gap (if there is one of course).

Webmaster (BM) : We would appreciate even the slightest bit of new info (with Phil's approval of course) about the new album. e.g How many tracks have been completed/in-production, producer, guest musos. etc. I'm sure something can be revealed without giving too much away. Thanks. Z.

Hi Bill & Roxy die-hard maniacs, as Stephen King would say: sometimes they come back Oh well, it's really time for a new album and RM gigs, as we all are suffering from the" seventh year crisis" without them !

So if a tour would normally follow an album, if we hear of venues being booked in advance, then it will be to support a new Roxy album, or a final swan song before all, or most of the group retire?

Quick heads up on PM's programme for 2008/9. From May thru Jan 09 Phil is producing what calls 'Collectors' editions of his back catalogue - that's 27 albums all told, starting in May. This will include, for example, the 801 Live Collectors Edition which will be a tweaked version of the original 801 Live CD + a second CD containing a recording of the last dress rehearsal at Shepperton. Full details of prpgramme soon.... Sounds like Phil's going to be busy doing his own thing this year which leaves very little scope (or hope) for a Roxy tour?? Also, according to Julia's site, Andy & The Metaphors are currently putting the last pieces of an album together and hope to be on tour during Spring and Summer! Next we have Bryan himself doing more tours during the summer months. Things are not looking healthy for a Roxy album or tour this year unless it all falls into place in the Autumn? But that still leaves Phil working on his own projects until Jan '09 and I can't see Roxy touring without him!!

I don't see any prospect of 2008 tour giving timing and other activities. There's little point in touring unless or until the album is completed. This logically has to come first.

Gulp - and 2008 seemed to have so much promise (Roxy-wise)!

IMHO I think we should wait and let things take their course. The good news is that Phil, Andy and TGPT are all active in the musical sense. Even if Roxy don't make live appearances this year, it looks as if Andy and possibly Phil and Paul will, and that's good enough for me!!
